FG to Begin YEIDEP Grant Disbursement by July 2025: Over 4.6 Million Youth Apply

Millions of aspiring young Nigerian entrepreneurs are set to benefit from a major federal initiative, as the Federal Government has officially announced July 2025 as the commencement date for the Youth Empowerment and Innovation Development Programme (YEIDEP) grant disbursement.

Massive Interest from Nigerian Youth

The program has already seen a surge in interest, with over 4.6 million applications received from young Nigerians eager to kick-start or expand their businesses. The grants—non-repayable and interest-free—will range from ₦50,000 to ₦500,000, making it one of the most accessible and inclusive financial empowerment schemes in the country’s recent history.

A Federal Flagship Initiative

Spearheaded by the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, in collaboration with the Youths Off The Street Initiative (YOTSI), YEIDEP stands as a flagship initiative aimed at promoting economic inclusion, job creation, and grassroots entrepreneurship.

Strategic Sectoral Focus

YEIDEP targets young entrepreneurs across critical sectors such as:

  • Agriculture
  • Information and Communications Technology (ICT)
  • Fashion and Design
  • Retail and Trade
  • Vocational Skills and Crafts

By focusing on these key industries, the initiative aims to unlock the economic potential of Nigerian youth and position them as active contributors to national development.

Looking Ahead

As the countdown to July begins, anticipation is high. YEIDEP is more than a grant—it is a symbol of hope, opportunity, and renewed faith in the capacity of Nigerian youth to drive innovation and prosperity across the nation.
